Nuggets NBA MVP Favorite Nikola Jokic Sends Message to Lakers

The Denver Nuggets look great at the moment and they have a really good chance to meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the playoffs. Nikola Jokic has a nice message for the Lakers and fans have started asking questions. The NBA MVP favorite said that his team will try to avoid meeting LA in the playoffs.

“It doesn’t matter, to be honest,” Jokic said in his postgame press conference. “If it happens, it happens. Why not? If you want to win it, you need to play with the best. We’re not going to try to fix anything [to avoid playing Lakers].”

If the playoffs start today, the Lakers will definitely meet the Nuggets. Denver has the No.3 seed and LA slipped to No.6.

Nikola Jokic has a message for Lakers superstar LeBron James

LeBron James has nothing but words of praise for Jokic. He even compared to NBA big man Arvydas Sabonis.

“The guy has an unbelievable talent to see the floor and see the plays before they happen,” he said in February. “You could look back at Arvydas Sabonis and things that he was doing with his passing ability. …Joker continues to get better and better every single year and he’s taking another step forward this year. It’s good to see that. I just love watch guys that just lay selfless basketball and play for the love and the joy and love the matter of their teammates and not just for themselves.”

The Joker once said he shares the same athleticism as LeBron. We would really love to see these two in a game. Denver’s championship odds took a blow with the season-ending injury to Jamal Murray.

“The speed is there,” Joker joked, per Denver Post’s Mike Singer. “We are the same athletically. …I don’t know. Can he jump as high as me? …Guys, I am joking.”

LA can make the playoffs but LeBron needs to take a good care of his health. Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that there’s major concern that LeBron’s ankle situation may linger into the postseason. The four-time NBA champion will probably play with “discomfort” in the playoff run.

“I think [LeBron] is going to try to play again in the regular season,” Wojnarowski explained on Get Up. “… He probably can’t get [the ankle] fully healthy until the offseason. He’s going to have to play with discomfort in the playoffs.”
