Patriots Share Photos Of Mac Jones, New Tight Ends From OTA Workouts

The third phase of offseason workouts is now underway. The New England Patriots had the first of their organized team activities on Monday. Patriots have these OTA workouts as a learning exercise. Players do them without full pads and live tackling. However, players also get a nice opportunity to get used to the system and their teammates and coaches. Mandatory minicamp takes place next month and the Patriots will get ready for that. These sessions are voluntary but head coach Bill Belichick usually sees strong attendance. The Patriots shared the first photos of rookie quarterback Mac Jones and tight ends.

The media couldn’t really attend the session. Non-team guys couldn’t attend it either. The team shared a behind-the-scenes look on Monday night. Go to their website to see the photos.

Patriots have high attendance at OTA workouts

Jones, Cam Newton, Brian Hoyer, and Jarrett Stidham attended the practice. Wide receivers Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne, Jakobi Meyers, Tre Nixon, Matthew Slater, Devin Smith, and Isaiah Zuber joined their teammates. C David Andrews, TE Devin Asiasi, OT Korey Cunningham, RB Tyler Gaffney, TE Hunter Henry, C Ted Karras, TE Matt LaCosse, C Marcus Martin, G Alex Redmond, and FB Danny Vitale did their job.

Half of the offensive players who are under contract didn’t attend the OTAs. This doesn’t mean that they will sit OTAs out this season. These are just the photos New England shared. Isaiah Wynn, Trent Brown and N’Keal Harry may have participated, but we didn’t see them in these photos.

Dont’a Hightower, Stephon Gilmore, Devin McCourty and Lawrence Guy didn’t attend the session. However, we did identify 24 defensive players in these photos. Davon Godchaux, Ronnie Perkins and Cameron McGrone joined the team and Kyle Dugger was on the field, too.

The Patriots have three placekickers, two long snappers, and one punter under contract. We could see only three of these players in the photos. Roberto Aguayo, Joe Cardona, and Wes Farnsworth joined the Pats.

Head coach Bill Belichick likes his new group. Let’s see if these players will help him win a Super Bowl.
