Rob Gronkowski Donates $1.2 Million For Renovation Of Boston Playground

Rob Gronkowski was an important member of the Boston family and he keeps giving out to the community. The veteran tight end is no longer part of the New England Patriots, but he had great time with the team.

Gronk retired from football in 2018. He was retired for a year and then came out of his retirement to join former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They won a Super Bowl in their first year with the Bucs, and Gronk is having the time of his life. He uses every bit of his free time to rest and relax. Well, he also uses his free time to make a good deed.

Gronkowski will always remember the city where he started his professional NFL career. In his latest act of kindness, Gronk donated $1.9 million to improve a playground in Boston.

The veteran tight end spent nine seasons with the Patriots and won three Super Bowls with the team. He had a short trip to Boston on Friday to deliver his check for the big renovation. Associated Press confirmed the donation.

Kids will have a lot of time at the Charlesbank Playground. It’s located on the city’s Charles River Esplanade.  According to sources, the donation was made on behalf of Gronk’s “Gronk Nation Youth Foundation.

Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker is grateful for the gift. He appreciates the great work and has great plans for the donation.

Baker said Gronk is “a big man with a big heart.”

Gronk’s donation goes to the nonprofit Esplanade Association and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation. They will use the money for a full renovation of the playground set right next to the Museum of Science.

A state lawmaker on Friday is introducing the legislation and the playground will be named “Gronk Playground.” Impressive, right? Gronk must be happy.

Gronk is using his time off to prepare for another great season with the Buccaneers. He and Brady have a long way to go. Let’s see what happens next in Tampa. And Boston.
