Vanessa Bryant Reveals Why Kobe Refused To Miss Games

Vanessa Bryant is proud of her late husband Kobe and everything he did during games. The Black Mamba won five titles with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was the perfect mentor for young NBA players and earned a spot in the Hall of Fame.

Vanessa held a speech during the Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday night. She honored Kobe during the speech. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan escorted Vanessa to the state. He was Kobe’s great friend and mentor. Lovely Vanessa immortalized Kobe in the perfect way.

“Kobe played through injury after injury,” she said, via the NBA’s official video. “To name a few, he had IVs administered during halftimes to play through food poisoning and the flu. Played through a broken nose. He had a broken finger and had it snapped back in place just enough to finish the game. … He even swished two free throws with a torn Achilles and walked off the court on his own.”

Kobe was able to play through adversity and this made him an incredible player. Vanessa shared another story that emphasized Kobe’s passion for the game. He was all-in when it comes to winning games. Vanessa once asked Kobe why he played through injuries. His response will shock you.

“I remember him asking, ‘What about the fans that saved up to watch me play just once?’,” Vanessa said.

This made us cry. Kobe really did think of his fans. He loved everyone.

This is the best reminder of Kobe’s greatness. He wanted to perform his best basketball. With the induction into the Hall of Fame, his amazing work ethic and mindset will never disappear.
