Watch: First Video Of Mac Jones, Other Patriots Rookies On Practice Field

NFL fans got a chance to see the very first video of New England Patriots rookie Mac Jones. Head coach Bill Belichick got Jones with the 15th overall in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The rookie got Belichick’s attention at his Pro Day and yes, he earned a spot in New England. Fans have to wait until the preseason to see more moves from Patriots players. Well, we sure enjoyed the tiny leak from the organization.

We got a mini holdover Tuesday morning and it was great.

The official Patriots Twitter account shared a video from the Patriots rookie minicamp. Jones, Rhanmondre Stevenson and Christian Barmore enjoyed their time together. In the video, we can see Belichick watching his new quarterback. Jones stretches out and gets some nice throws.

This may not be much, but it’s definitely a good introduction

Patriots will have their organized team activities next week, and players will get a chance to see real action.

A promising first video of Mac Jones

New England was in the conversation for a quarterback heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. Belichick had Newton as the only option entering the season. Jones was “lucky” enough to slip to No.15 and Belichick used the opportunity to get the rookie. Newton is a good player but Belichick needed a backup plan.

Draft night was amazing and NFL fans had a lot of fun. We all saw the photo of Jones looking just like Patriots legend Tom Brady.

Jones and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels worked really closely and we can easily say that these two developed a nice relationship. Belichick will need more of that in the upcoming season.

When it comes to other quarterback news, the Patriots signed Brian Hoyer to a one-year deal. The veteran is staying with the team to add more depth to the quarterback unit.

Belichick likes each and every player on his roster. The head coach signed a good group of players in free agency and he was excellent in the draft.
