Former Patriots Star Predicts Team’s 2021 Record

The New England Patriots have high hopes for the 2021 season and head coach Bill Belichick will do his best to improve the record. The team finished 2020 with a 7-9 record. They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008. Well, yes, this was a bad season for the team as eight players opted-out of the regular season. Tom Brady left the team in free agency and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Head coach Bill Belichick didn’t like the record. The front office made some huge changes and spent a lot of money in free agency. Belichick upgraded his receiving unit and also added enough power to the defensive personnel. He selected Mac Jones in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Jones was selected with the 15th overall pick and he looks like a good fit for the team.

The Patriots will have to try really hard to finish the job and build a monster roster. They are contenders and yes, things look great for the storied franchise.

Patriots to improve their 2021 record

Former Patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich says that the Patriots will probably win 11 games in the upcoming season.

“Well, with them spending about $200 million in free agency, I think that they’re going to have a successful year,” Ninkovich said, via NESN. “I’m going with 11 wins. They’re going to be 11-6. They’re going to be right back in the mix for the division. I think they might split between Miami and Buffalo. They’re going to have a couple rough games on the road, going out to LA. So, I’m going 11-6 for the Patriots.”

What a prediction!

An 11-6 record wouldn’t guarantee the division title since the AFC East is packed with talent.

If the Patriots want to be a playoff team in 2021, they will have to pick the right quarterback for the team. Cam Newton is probably the starter for Week 1. Will Mac Jones go under center at some point of the season? Let’s see what happens next. Both players have great skills. Newton has tons of experience and Jones has impeccable skillset.
