LA Lakers Make First Big Move of Offseason to Help LeBron James, Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers are ready to make a big splash in the upcoming period, and they have already made the first move in the offseason.

The team is parting ways with the head trainer after players sustained injuries in the 2020-21 NBA season. LeBron James and Anthony Davis missed a lot of time and this is the perfect time to make a change.

Dave McMenamin from ESPN reported that the Lakers didn’t renew Nina Hsieh’s contract. Hsieh was the Lakers’ head trainer in the past two seasons.

LA had a really short offseason and Lakers players were only healthy in the first month of the regular season. AD had nicks and bruises from the jump. He missed 30 games after sustaining a calf/Achilles injury on Feb. 14. It was a re-aggravation that didn’t come as a surprise. If you counted, he missed a total of 36 games.

King James missed 26 games due to a high ankle sprain. Atlanta Hawks forward Solomon Hill fell on his leg on March 20. This was LeBron’s longest injury absence of his career.

Lakers superstar Davis to make a move in the offseason

LeBron and AD weren’t 100% for the playoffs. Davis suffered a knee sprain in Game 3 of the series against the Phoenix Suns. He suffered a subsequent groin strain in Game 4. This was the final nail in the coffin for the horrible Lakers season.

Davis’ groin injury was connected to the knee strain. Yes, AD could play in Game 6, but he had to leave the game after five minutes.

General Manager Rob Pelinka, head coach Frank Vogel, and other players believe that LA had the chance to win a championship had everyone been able to stay healthy.

Lakers legend and studio analyst Robert Horry said the most important change AD can make at the moment is hiring a new personal trainer.

“Get rid of his trainer.. I don’t know if he had the same trainer from the moment he came into the NBA. And if he has, he needs to get rid of him because his trainer is not preparing him for 82 games. I know last year was 72 and they had a shortened offseason, but I’m just talking about overall, because he’s had a history of injuries.”
