Lakers Officially Announce LeBron James Number Change

The Los Angeles Lakers made an official announcement. It’s official. LeBron James is changing his jersey number. The king made a decision and it’s now official.

The four-time NBA champion will enter the new season with a brand new uniform number. Well, he has already donned this number. The Lakers didn’t have much success in the 2020-21 season. Maybe this change will help the team win more games in the upcoming season.

LeBron has worn just two numbers in his NBA career. He wore No.6 and 23. When it comes to his time with the Lakers, LeBron has only worn No.23. It’s time for a big change and LeBron is ready for the challenge.

LeBron James is changing his jersey number for the win

King James is officially changing his number from 23 to 6 for the upcoming season. He last wore No.6 during his time with the Miami Heat. It was a four-year stint and LeBron won two championships.

Some would agree that LeBron was playing his best basketball when he wore No.6. Maybe he will return to “that” LeBron.

LeBron’s 2020-21 season wasn’t that great. He had to carry the team on his back. Anthony Davis suffered an injury in mid-February and missed a lot of time. LeBron was all by himself. As if this wasn’t enough, the king injured himself, too.

LeBron never fully recovered from the high-ankle sprain that kept him on the sidelines for 20+ games. He returned to the floor and helped the team beat the Golden State Warriors and make the playoffs. LA had a 2-1 series lead over Phoenix in the first round. Unfortunately, AD suffered a left groin strain in Game 4. He missed the second half of the game and also missed Game 5 and most of Game 6. Phoenix took advantage and won Games 4, 5, and 6.

LA struggled in the playoffs, and players failed to make an impact. Dennis Schroder was good in the regular season, but he struggled in the playoffs. The man didn’t even score!

Let’s see what happens in the offseason. Rob Pelinka will make a lot of changes.
