Sunday was a great day Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones. He was named the NBA Executive of the Year. It was the perfect motivation for Jones and his team defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. LeBron James took notice of Jones’ great accomplishment and congratulated him on being the NBA Executive of the Year.
Jones and LeBron are close friends and former teammates. They spent a lot of great time together so yes, they know each other really well.
The Suns defeated the Clippers in a wonderful 120-114 night and things look really well for the team.
LeBron James congratulates the NBA executive
After the big award was announced, LeBron shouted his former teammate out on Twitter. They played together in Miami and Cleveland and won three titles together.
“YELLING CONGRATS to my brother James “CHAMP” Jones on Executive of the Year!!” LeBron wrote.
Jones deserves every bit of this honor. He has been the general manager in Phoenix the last three years. He deserves the honor just because he helped the team make a few big moves. Jones’ trade for veteran point guard Chris Paul was the biggest move in the offseason last offseason.
Paul was an excellent leader for the Suns. He had a MVP performance in the 2020-21 NBA season and led the Suns to a 51-21 record. They earned the No.2 seed in the West. The future Hall of Famer is out of the lineup due to coronavirus protocols, but this didn’t stop the Suns from having a strong night. Devin Booker dropped a shocking triple-double. Center Deandre Ayton had an excellent performance too.
Phoenix need only three more wins to make the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1993 season. Will Jones add other players to help his team get the trophy? Things got really hot and Phoenix is on fire.
