LeBron’s Mental Expectation For Anthony Davis Injury Status For Suns-Lakers Game

The Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 5 of the series against the Phoenix Suns. Players struggled to score on the field, and LeBron James had to carry the load himself. The king of basketball has high mental expectations for Anthony Davis. The Lakers big man missed Game 5 and his teammates saw too many obstacles on the floor. LA finished the game with a 85-115 loss.

AD was a late scratch. He was treating a Grade-1 groin strain. The big man sustained his injury in Game 4 and had to miss the game. Pretty much every report suggested that he’d sit out the game.

Dennis Schroder said the Lakers knew of AD’s fate ahead of the game. AD spent two sessions on the basketball court testing his groin right before the game.

LA had a 11-0 first-quarter run and the Suns went ahead. They didn’t look back.

LeBron has great mental expectations from Anthony Davis

The Suns had a 30-point lead by halftime. LeBron, head coach Frank Vogel and Schroder admit that the Suns took care of business.

“Kicked our ass, but at the end of the day, it’s one game,” LeBron said. “They did what they’re supposed to do. They held serve at home.”

The Lakers have to prepare for the next game. They have to win it. LeBron is down 3-2 in a first-round series for the first time in his pro career.

“My mindset is that he’s not going to be able to play in Game 6,” LeBron said about Davis in his postgame Zoom with reporters. “If something changes, then we’ll go from there. But I’m preparing as if he’s not.”

The king finished the game with 24 points, seven assists, and give rebounds. He was the only Lakers starter to hit double figures.

The Lakers have to do their best and finish the game with a win, otherwise, they will have to go home.

“It’s literally win-or-go-home at that point,” LeBron said about his career success with his back against the wall. “You shoot all the bullets you got, and throw the gun, too … I look forward to the moment.”
