Netflix to Release Workplace Comedy Series Inspired by Lakers Front Office

Netflix will release comedy series and it will be inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers front office. Surprised much? Guess what… Jeanie Buss is executively producing the show and fans got really excited.

“Streaming giant Netflix has gone straight to series on an untitled workplace comedy inspired by the front office of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers,” wrote Lesley Goldberg of The Hollywood Reporter. “Team president Jeanie Buss is attached to exec produce the Mindy Kaling-produced workplace comedy that is inspired by the 17-time NBA champion’s family owners and front office.”

Netflix offers a different kind of comedy series about the Lakers front office

Of course, the show won’t revolve around the Lakers as a team. It centers around the female exec who leads the whole thing.

“[The show will follow] Eliza Reed, the governor of a fictional team, as she navigates NBA ownership and family drama with her best friend by her side,” Goldberg continued in the report.

Buss is taking part in the production of the big show. NBA fans will soon be able to compare some of the top fictitious events in the show to real-life events in the organization. Things are getting really hot in LA.

We don’t have much info on the timetable for the release of the show. Fans have started asking questions about the release date. Hopefully, we will get an update in the next few months.

When it comes to Buss’ team, they missed the chance to win a championship. LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Lakers to a title last year, but they failed to do the same this time. The Lakers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. Buss trusts General Manager Rob Pelinka and we do believe that these two will do some great things in the offseason.

The Los Angeles Lakers are the most storied franchise in history of sports. Buss and her franchise are making headlines almost every day and this piece will sure come as a refreshment. Buss is an excellent leader and LA made great success in the past few years. I mean, this lady brought LeBron James in LA!
