Report: Patriots ‘Feared’ 1 Free Agency Destination For Tom Brady

The New England Patriots lost Tom Brady in free agency and he signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There were too many rumors about the greatest of all time. Why did Brady leave the Patriots? NFL analysts linked Brady to many teams, including one rival.

The former Patriots quarterback talked about his free agency decision in an appearance on HBO’s “The Shop.” He mentioned one particular team, and fans started asking questions.

Brady inked a two-year deal with the Bucs in 2020. He said that one team backed out of his free agency race at the very final minute.

“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf–ker?’” Brady said on HBO.

Was he talking about the Miami Dolphins?

The Patriots lost Tom Brady

Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk said that Miami was the one team New England “feared” TB12 might leave for.

“Before Tom Brady made his first foray into free agency, the Patriots feared one potential destination about all others. The Dolphins. Imagine Brady, staying in the division, reuniting with former New England assistant Brian Flores, and tormenting the Pats for the next two or three years, or longer. Yes, the Patriots had very real concerns that would happen — especially in light of Brady’s relationship with Dolphins minority owner Bruce Beal.”

So, the Dolphins don’t make much sense as the mystery squad for TB12. They weren’t really in contention for the GOAT. Well, he had great plans for his free agency and the Dolphins were out of the formula.

Miami had a high draft pick and wanted to selected a young quarterback in the draft.

The person Brady referenced was probably an older and more established signal-caller. He made a decision and it turned out to be a really good one. Brady and his Bucs teammates made the Super Bowl last season and yes they ended up winning it. TB12 won a title in his first season with the Buccaneers. Yes, the man is a star.
