Stephon Gilmore Doesn’t Hide Reaction To Contract List

New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore is in a tricky contract situation with the team. The veteran is unhappy with his current deal and has yet to make a decision on his future with the team.

Gilmore didn’t participate in mandatory minicamp earlier this month. He is a four-time Pro Bowler and won the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year. He will enter the final year of his deal with the Patriots. We are more than convinced that Gilmore is not satisfied with his salary. He will earn $7 million next season and it’s obvious that he is worth more.

Gilmore will probably look for a bigger deal.

But the Patriots may not be willing to give him more. Will Gilmore take a step back? Of course not. He shared a since-deleted post from CBS Sports which included the top 10 highest-paid defensive backs in the NFL.

As you may guess, he is not on this list. Is he disappointed? Of course.

Stephon Gilmore to get a better deal and make the list?

Many would agree with Gilmore on this. The man is confident about his skills. He thinks he should be paid more. But, let’s not forget that he will be 31 in September. Head coach Bill Belichick is going through pretty much everything when it comes to building a roster. Will he extend the veteran’s contract? There are so many questions fans would love to get answers to right now.

Belichick may trade the veteran and get a few picks in return. Even if Gilmore returns to the team, New England may trade him for a couple of assets. Letting him go for free is not the best option right now.

The Patriots’ roster is packed with talent. They have a few amazing options on the open market as well. Belichick will pick the best players for his team and yes, we believe he is satisfied with the current lineup. He can also always add a few pass catchers.
