Andre Drummond Rips Lakers on Social Media

Andre Drummond was part of the Los Angeles Lakers last year and it looks like the big man has some hard feelings over his playing minutes in the regular season. Drummond couldn’t hide his frustration and he used his social media accounts to share his thoughts.

The veteran shared a photo of himself and wrote, “Don’t judge me until you know me. Don’t underestimate me until you challenge me. And don’t talk about me until you’ve talked to me.”

One of Dre’s followers challenged him to play more like Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton and Milwaukee Bucks big man Brook Lopez.

Drummond took notice of this particular comment and his response was brutal. He blamed the cut of his playing minutes and the coaching staff in LA. Well, that was harsh.

The big man probably enjoyed this because he published a story right after the exchange.

“Responding to trolls be so funny,” Drummond said. “Y’all got it all figured out.”

Well, the situation is pretty tricky right now. Drummond has been up to something for a really long time.

Skip Bayless called him “Kareem Abdul-Drummond” for the troll move.

Drummond was averaging 11.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game with the Lakers this season. The team got him through a buyout agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Dre started all but one game and was averaging 24.8 minutes.

Andre Drummond to join the Lakers in 2021-22?

The Lakers had a lot of talent on the roster. Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell arrived to help the team win games.

LA promised to start Drummond if he inked a deal. The only game he didn’t start was Game 6. He didn’t leave the bench and Gasol and Harrell split the minutes.

Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has nothing but words of praise for the veteran.

“Dre was great for us,” he told reporters, per USA Today. “Let me start by saying that. We’re hopeful that he’s a Laker for a long time. He played well for us, and was a good culture fit. He fit in well with the guys and was very well-liked.”

Drummond enjoyed playing alongside LeBron and AD.

“I enjoyed my time being here in Los Angeles. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot being alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis and just the whole team in general,” Drummond said during an Instagram Live interview in June with Aron Cohen of lakersalldayeveryday. “Their mentality of how they attack the game really changed my perception of how I want to carry myself when it comes to basketball.”

Hopefully, he will stay around for another season.

“Playing alongside LeBron James is a different ball game. It’s every kid’s dream to play with the best player in the world,” Drummond said. “This is an incredible time for me in my career to have the opportunity to play with LeBron James instead of against him. Hopefully, things go the right way and we’ll try to run it back again.”
