Kendrick Perkins Fires up Bold Take on Lakers’ Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off a bad season. The Phoenix Suns eliminated the team in the first round of the playoffs. Will they wake up from their nightmare? Kendrick Perkins has something to say about Lakers big Anthony Davis.

Perkins sees a Maurice Podoloff award in Davis’ future. This will definitely be a boon for LA.

“I’m predicting right now that he is going to be the one to win MVP next season. He sees all the slander. He’s hearing everything about Giannis. He’s very quiet at the moment. And from what I’m hearing, he’s working his tail off behind the scenes. Lakers got to do something but I would not panic if I’m a Lakers fan.”

An MVP award would mean a good season for the Lakers. They would have home-court advantage and a successful path to a deep postseason run. LeBron James and Davis don’t need a play-in tournament. They played against the Golden State Warriors and won the game. But, they didn’t have much chance against Chris Paul and the Suns.

Kendrick Perkins makes a bold take on Anthony Davis

AD has the potential to be the best player in the NBA. He has been a constant name on MVP voting charts in his professional career. The big man has made 10 appearances and a 3rd-place finish in the 2017-18 season. One thing stands for sure. Davis has to stay healthy. This is the only problem in his career. He missed a lot of time last season and LeBron had to carry the team on his back. Davis returned at one point but it didn’t help.

The Lakers need both LeBron and AD on the floor in the 2021-22 NBA season. They need a third superstar, too. DeMar DeRozan, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook and many others make a good fit for the Lakers. Let’s see what happens in the upcoming season. LA has some valuable players on the roster, Rob Pelinka will have to spice things a bit.
