Lakers Called on to Trade Anthony Davis for Rival Superstar

The Los Angeles Lakers may pull out a few trade deals in the offseason, and analysts believe the team should get rid of Anthony Davis. This is probably the most shocking idea we’ve ever heard. LeBron James and AD have an excellent relationship and they won a lot of games together. Will general manager Rob Pelinka agree to trade his superstar?

AD averaged 26.1 points per game and could easily get the Defensive Player of the Year award. He led LA to the title and helped the team win it inside the NBA bubble in Orlando. ESPN rated AD as the second-best player in the league behind LeBron.

Things changed a lot. Davis’ stats dropped. As if this wasn’t enough, the veteran missed 36 regular-season games and time in the playoffs due to a groin injury. AD struggled with injuries throughout his entire career, but this season was pretty bad.

The Lakers may not want to trade Anthony Davis

Will Davis stay healthy for a full season? Chris Palmer believes the franchise should trade him for Portland Trail Blazers Damian Lillard.

Dame hasn’t requested a trade but there are multiple rumors suggesting that he will force his way out of the franchise. If Portland trades him, Davis is the best return they will ever get.

Colin Cowherd shares the same opinion. He believes the Lakers and Blazers should agree to a trade deal. The host talked about this on The Herd.

This makes sense for a bunch of analysts. Dame wants out and Portland wouldn’t get a better player than AD. They may hope for a few draft picks and young players but AD is one of the top five players in the NBA when healthy. He is not washed up and the team can get a really strong performance from him. The Lakers big man is just 27 and he has so much to offer.

We don’t really know if the Lakers are willing to part ways with the big man. Teammates like him and he seems like a good partner for LeBron. Let’s see what happens next.
