Four-time NBA champion LeBron James is 36 and some say he is too old to play the game. Well, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar won a ring last year, remember?
This longevity has been making headlines for a really long time. Some fans are impressed with his stats, highlights, titles, and other accolades. But, we’d say that longevity is the most remarkable achievement of LeBron’s career.
As you all know, LeBron will turn 37 in December. He will enter the 19th NBA season. Try to keep in mind that LeBron is playing his best basketball when healthy.
LeBron James is not old
King James has been a role model for many generations of basketball fans and gamers. We saw the First Look screens from NBA 2K22, and one fan showed us all how long LeBron has been dominating the basketball court.
This person just compared a current photo of digitized LeBron to a photo of him from 2003.
LeBron is on his third team and can’t wait to win his fifth ring. In his 18 seasons in the NBA, LeBron played with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers. He made 10 NBA Finals, won four championships, and got 17 All-Star nods. LeBron played less than 70 games in a regular season only five times. Two of these were shortened seasons and three happened with the Lakers.
King James is third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. He is eighth on the assists list, and hit more points than any other player in postseason history.
Will he retire in the near future?
LeBron appeared on the “Smartless” podcast, and talked about his future plans. He wants to retire as a Laker.
“I truly hope that I can finish my career with the Lakers,” LeBron said. “And how many years that is — if it’s four, five, six, whatever, seven — I hope that I can continue to play the game. I love being in L.A., my family loves being in L.A.”
The only thing we can do right now is sit and wait to see what happens next.
