LeBron James Responds To Chris Paul To Lakers Trade Rumors

LeBron James showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday to talk about a lot of things including the recent rumors related to Chris Paul. The four-time NBA champion is promoting Space Jam: A New Legacy, and he used the opportunity to discuss different topics.

Part of his interview with guest host Arsenio Hall was focused on the Phoenix Suns point guard. Is there any chance for him to end up playing with LeBron?

Well, the king of basketball didn’t make the same mistake as Magic Johnson. In 2017, Johnson was fined for tampering Paul George.

LeBron provided an interesting answer.

“’Could it still happen? And would you like it to still happen?’ Arsenio asked LeBron, about Paul wearing the purple-and-gold.

“After James awkwardly laughed and questioned whether Hall knew what the word ‘tampering’ meant, Hall chimed back in: ‘You probably can’t talk about that. Of course, you’d love to play with your friend. We’d love it.’

“’Absolutely, absolutely, absolutely,’ LeBron said.

LeBron James and Chris Paul are really close

In December 2011, NBA Commissioner David Stern shut down every possibility to send Paul to LA. Stern was the acting owner of the New Orleans Pelicans at the time.

LeBron has great friendship with Paul and that’s the only thing that matters at this point.

“I have a horse in the race and he goes by the name of Chris Paul,” LeBron said, when asked if he’s been watching the Suns-Bucks series. “So I’ve been watching. That is my brother and we’ve known each other since my junior year of high school, his sophomore year. We actually met for the first time when we were in eighth grade…We’ve been friends ever since.”

On Jimmy Kimmel Live (hosted by Arsenio), LeBron spoke on his long-time friendship with Chris Paul, including CP being present for Bryce's birth.

Believe it or not, Paul was at the hospital when Savannah gave birth to Bryce Maximus.

“It happened to be during the NBA Finals then,” LeBron said. “So he’s the godfather of Bryce, and Bryce came out the night before, and then I proceeded to get my a** kicked by the Spurs the next day.”

Is this scenario even possible?
