LeBron James Responds to Russell Westbrook Trade News

The Los Angeles Lakers are adding Russell Westbrook to their roster and fans are super excited about the opportunity. The franchise had great success in trade talks and the Washington Wizards will get a nice package in return. LA is sending Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and the 2021 first-round pick to Washington to get Westbrook, a 2024 second-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick. Not bad, right? This was one of the biggest deals in the offseason. Well, hey, Rob Pelinka is just getting started. Guess who liked the big news? LeBron James had an expected reaction to Westbrook news. We saw this coming.

LA needed a third superstar behind the king and Anthony Davis. The franchise wanted someone like Chris Paul, Bradley Beal, and a few other superstars. It looks like Westbrook was the best pick for the franchise.

I guess big moves don’t happen without LBJ’s “permission”. What did the king of basketball say about this? He liked the big news!

The four-time NBA champion shared a photo of Westbrook wearing a Lakers uniform. AD is in the photo, too.

LeBron James likes the Westbrook news

LeBron and Westbrook have an excellent relationship. In other words, the newly-added Lakers player won’t have trouble fitting in the Lakers locker room. LA still has a lot do to in the offseason. There are several holes on the roster now, but Pelinka has a nice base to work with. He is building a stronger roster around LeBron, AD, and Westbrook.

What’s next on the list? The Lakers will probably go after talented role players.

It’s interesting to note that Westbrook is joining his fourth team in four seasons. His game in Washington was rough and the Wizards are one of the worst teams in the league. Well, Westbrook changed this and led the team to the postseason with the help of Beal. These two figured things out but the Wizards weren’t considered an elite team.

Westbrook has nothing but words of praise for his former team. He delivered a thoughtful message to thank them for the great times they had together.
