LeBron Makes Surprise Finals Trip to Cheer on Potential Lakers Target

LeBron James has a surprise for his dear friend Chris Paul.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James showed up for Game 5 of the NBA Finals and he wasn’t playing. He came to support CP3. This was his great surprise for his dear friend.

It’s interesting to note that LeBron came to the NBA Finals to watch the team that defeat the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. LeBron is not mad at Paul for beating him earlier in the playoffs.

The king’s attendance didn’t come as a surprise. Paul has to make a decision on his next move. Will he stay with the Phoenix Suns? He is set to make $44.2 million in the 2021-22 NBA season. The veteran has a chance to join the Lakers and win a ring.

LeBron James has a surprise for CP3

In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Arsenio Hall asked LeBron if he would join forces with Paul before the end of his career. Hall was well aware of the fact that this may put him in a big trouble. LeBron was all smiles and said he would love to play with Paul.

Hall asked about CP3 almost joining the Lakers in 2011.

“They like vetoed the trade,” LeBron explained. “I’ve never seen that in NBA history. I was excited as heck for CP. I thought the Lakers faithful was excited to get him then they just, they vetoed it. It’s working out for him [Paul] right now, I tell you, years later. It’s working out for him.”

LeBron and Paul are really great friends. Their friendship started many years ago.

“I am, I have a horse in the race and he goes by the name of Chris Paul,” LeBron said. “That is my brother, and we’ve known each other since my junior year in high school, his sophomore year. We actually met for the first time when we were in eighth grade. We played in the same AAU national basketball tournament in Orlando, Florida, and then we officially met my junior year, his sophomore year. I mean, we’ve been friends ever since.”

That’s not all. LeBron has more to add to this story.

“Yeah, he was at the hospital for the birth of my second child, my second son Bryce Maximus, and it happened to be during the NBA Finals then,” LeBron added. “So, he’s the godfather of Bryce, and Bryce came out the night before and then I went on to proceed to get my a** kicked by the Spurs the next day. So, there was no sleep for me then.”
