“Laker Nation, the blockbuster trade that’s bringing Russell Westbrook to the @Lakers is VERY exciting and will definitely make the Lakers a championship contender next season!” Johnson wrote. “With Westbrook joining LeBron and AD, the Lakers now have their version of the Big 3. All we need now is a couple of shooters and we’ll be tough to beat.”
Westbrook was averaging 22.2 points, 11.7 assists, and 9.9 rebounds in 65 games with the Wizards this season. He helped the team make the finals.
LA made the playoffs too but missed the chance to go any further. The Phoenix Suns eliminated the Lakers in the first round. Rob Pelinka won’t go through the same again. The Lakers will be champions next season.
