Montrezl Harrell Takes Shot at Lakers HC Frank Vogel Over Role

Montrezl Harrell joined the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason and he worked with head coach Frank Vogel. General Manager Rob Pelinka brought him in and he was the biggest surprise in free agency. Fans were surprised to see him join the Lakers. LA won a championship the previous season and they had a really great size. Harrell is 6 feet 7 and he is definitely an undersized center.

As we all noticed, it was a bad move. Harrell had zero playing time in the playoffs. Big man Andre Drummond and Marc Gasol went at center and there was no room for Harrell. The latter is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year and many thought that he would get some time on the floor. Maybe Harrell was a bad matchup against the Phoenix Suns. If you ask the veteran, he will say something else.

Harrell took his time to reply to some of the comments on Instagram. In one of the most interesting comments, a fan suggested that Harrell didn’t play because of the game. Well, he called out the comment and his NSFW reply was quite confusing.

“lmaoo y’all N**** keep things match up situation are excuses lmao that s*** isn’t real.”

Montrezl Harrell challenged Frank Vogel

Harrell is definitely taking a shot at the Lakers head coach. He is convinced that Vogel didn’t know how to use him properly. Let’s not forget that he is still under contract with the storied franchise.

We have at least one good reason to believe that Harrell will return to the team. He didn’t like his role and now is the perfect time to make a decision. The veteran center has a player option on his contract. He can decline it and become a free agent.

The 2020-21 NBA season was bad and Harrell may not get a better deal from another team. LA owes him $9.7 million if he accepts the player option. What’s next on the list for Harrell? He will have to think really good to make the right move. The Lakers will probably part ways with the veteran. What do you think?
