Report: Lakers Coach Parts Ways With Franchise

One Los Angeles Lakers coach parts ways with the storied franchise, announcing the big wave of changes. The Lakers are in desperate need of a change and they have started with the coaching staff.

Assistant coach Lionel Hollins will no longer work with the team. Sam Amick and Jovan Buha were among the first to confirm the news.

The 67-year-old worked with Vogel in the last two years. LeBron James and the rest of the guys won a championship in Hollins’ first year on the bench. But, the team was eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs this year. So, there wasn’t much success.

The Lakers are all-in when it comes to making changes. The team is coming off a bad season and the front office will change the approach.

We will witness an avalanche of changes in the next couple of months.

Hollins leaves the Lakers right after Fizdale parts ways with the team.

Hollins isn’t the first Lakers coach to leave the team. Former Lakers assistant coach Jason Kidd left the franchise to be the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks.

David Fizdale became an assistant coach with the Lakers. He has an excellent relationship with LeBron and this makes things easier for everyone. Coaches have to get along with the four-time NBA champion. It’s like a rule for NBA teams led by LeBron.

Hollins may join Chauncey Billups’ staff in Portland. Some of the rumors suggested that he will be part of this organization. The only thing we can do right now is sit and wait. Hollins has a few options on the table and he will do the best for his future.

The Lakers will work with a lot of new names in the upcoming season. LeBron and Anthony Davis will stay around to lead the team. Maybe Rob Pelinka will bring another superstar to make things easier for everyone.
