REPORT: Latest News On Lakers Coaching Moves

The Los Angeles Lakers will make a lot of changes in the offseason and they have already made some coaching moves. The team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs and this was the first sign that LA needed changes.

Assistant coach Jason Kidd left the organization and joined the Dallas Mavericks as their next head coach. LA had to find a replacement. They hired David Fizdale to replace Kidd. We believe there will be more changes coming their way.

At least one player has said that he is going for a different role moving forward.

Fizdale may be a good addition to the coaching staff in LA. The purple and gold will probably try to add more names to the team. Marc Stein from the New York Times reported that LA has interviewed Scott Brooks for an assistant position.

The Lakers to make more coaching moves

On Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN reported that Brooks is working on his contract. He is joining the Portland Trail Blazers as head coach Chauncey Billups’ assistant.

Brooks was a head coach for the Washington Wizards. He coached the Oklahoma City Thunder, too. We believe he has a lot of experience and the Lakers should get the best of it. Maybe he will bring some connections to possible free agent and trade targets.

The Lakers really need a new name on the coaching staff. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium says that Kidd may not be the only coach to leave the franchise.

Assistant coach Lionel Hollins attracted the attention of the Portland Trail Blazer. Maybe he will get more offers in the next few weeks.

The franchise is entering the offseason with several needs on the table. Pelinka will have to make a lot of decisions in the upcoming period. Let’s wait and see what happens next in LA. We’d love to see the Lakers in the playoffs again. They missed the chance to win a title this year. They won’t go through the same again. Right?
