Russell Westbrook wants to get his ring and the Lakers nation supports him. The Los Angeles Lakers brought the veteran to boost the roster. LeBron James and Anthony Davis needed a third superstar to work with and Westbrook seems like a good option.
The Washington Wizards traded Westbrook to LA Thursday night. He didn’t spend much time with the team, but didn’t forget to thank them all for the great experience.
The former MVP joined the Lakers at the right time.
“Thank you DC! You welcomed my family and I with open arms from day one,” Westbrook said in the post. “Everyone from the front office, to the training staff, the coaches, my teammates, and the fans. I’m grateful y’all took a chance on me and supported me every step of the way. I’m blessed to have been a part of such a stand up organization. It didn’t take long to make a home in DC, and I will forever be grateful and appreciative of my experience with the organization. Thank you.”
Things look great now, and Westbrook is getting ready for the next phase. He is super excited to join the Lakers.
Russell Westbrook hypes Lakers nation
The NBA veteran shared a photo of him in a Lakers jersey and wrote, “HomeTeam. WHYNOT?”
Some analysts don’t like the fact that LA signed Davis. Well, LeBron and AD talked to their new teammate and discussed their future roles. It’s all about putting egos aside and doing the best for the team. To do this, Westbrook will let LeBron take the lead on offense, and Davis will go at center.
“They talked about putting their egos aside and playing as one in their quest to bring the Lakers another NBA championship,” Broderick Turner wrote, via the Los Angeles Times. “Westbrook talked about how his only intention was winning and coming back home to Los Angeles to become a champion.”
Westbrook is a talented player but he needs a ring in his resume. He couldn’t get his ring with the Wizards, but he can definitely do that with the Lakers.
