Bill Belichick to pick between Cam Newton and Mac Jones

Belichick won’t have too long to get everything in order. He is getting ready for the real season and it begins in September.

The most interesting aspect of the practice? Jones and Newton received ovations from fans. Oh, it doesn’t get any better than this!

Newton played a full season for the New England Patriots but didn’t get to hear from fans. Well, these guys welcomed him to the practice field on Wednesday with a loud roar. Jones received similar treatment. Patriots fans really like both quarterbacks. One of them will start games in September.

Belichick has four quarterbacks on the roster but the competition will unfold between Jones and Newton. The 2015 NFL MVP has advantage over the rookie signal-caller. Belichick trusted him enough to give him another contract. Jones has a lot to learn before taking the lead role. Jarrett Stidham is the odd one out. Brian Hoyer will stay around to mentor Jones. This is one of the possible scenarios.

When it comes to the first practice, several players who had been placed on the physically unable to perform list took part in the practice. Kyle Van Noy and Trent Brown found their spot on the field. In other words, their stay on the PUP list is officially over.

Stephon Gilmore, Stidham, and Devin Asiasi were nowhere to be seen.
