Adam Silver Reacts To LeBron James Comments Of Play-In Tournament

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is not a fan of the play-in tournament. Well, his team had to play the game and beat the Golden State Warriors. They won, but lost the series to the Phoenix Suns.

NBA teams see this tournament as a chance to earn their spot in the playoffs. LeBron didn’t like it and he even said that those who came up with the idea should be fired.

Silver said that the NBA will have the play-in tournament again in 2022. Some NBA stars didn’t like any of this.

LeBron James talked to Silver about the play-in tournament

The Lakers superstar is one of them. He and Silver talked about the play-in tournament and it seems like LeBron understood the big purpose of this game. TMZ has more details of this:

“’We talked about it,’ Silver said. ‘I think at the end of the day, I understand. Especially if you went deep last year and you have that end, you have that many sort of games on your legs. You’re not looking forward to more games. But, I think he understands the context of the league.’

“Silver says despite James’ initial gripe, it was the NBA Players’ Association that ended up voting in favor … but he’s totally down to collab on a common ground to make both sides as happy as possible.

“’At the end of the day, the Players Association speaks for the players, and they’ve approved this format for next season,’ Silver added. ‘So, I think we wanted to get one more season under our belt that wasn’t a pandemic season, so we could really get a sense of how it works. But, I’m more open to tinkering with it if necessary.’”

Last season, fans enjoyed watching LeBron go after Stephen Curry and the Warriors. The Lakers met the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament. It was a big game and LA came out as a winner.

This tournament motivates players to do better on the floor. It also gives hope to those who rank 7^th-10^th.
