Bill Belichick Has Rare Compliment For Trent Brown

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick respects great players, and Trent Brown is one of them. The talented player has attracted everyone’s attention and NFL analysts like his performance on the field.

If you ask coach B, he will say that the offensive tackle is at a “higher point” in his comeback.

“I think Trent’s experience has given him a much higher level of leadership, communication,” Belichick told reporters during his press conference on Saturday. “He’s just able to do more both on and off the field. Has a lot more experience. Has more experience in our system, which is a big factor. He didn’t have that in 2018 and we haven’t changed things a lot.”

Bill Belichick to get the best of Trent Brown

The Patriots first got Brown in an exchange of No.95 overall and No.143 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. They did business with the San Francisco 49ers to get the player. In March, the team engaged in a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. The new deal included a fifth-round and seventh-round picks in 2022.

“I think he’s comfortable with all the communication and techniques and adjustments and so forth,” added Belichick. “That wasn’t the case the beginning of 2018, nor would you expect it to be for any player that’s new to our program. He’s way ahead of where he was, and that maturity and experience has manifested itself in positive leadership and I would say insight for other players. He’s been with three organizations. And again, he has some good perspective on a lot of things, especially the New England Patriots.”

Brown measures at 6 feet 8, 380 pounds. He started every game at left tackle for Belichick’s team in his first four stint with the franchise.

It was a long run for the player and he had about 1,300 offensive snaps. He also had three sacks and a dozen QB hits allowed during this period. NFL analysts say Brown had a run-blocking grade of 69.8.
