Bill Belichick Reacts to N’Keal Harry Latest Statement on Trade Request

The New England Patriots are well into training camp. Players hit the practice field to sharpen their skills and get ready for the preseason. The 2021 roster looks pretty different than the one we had in 2020. Cam Newton is still here. Jarrett Stidham is recovering as he had a back surgery to fix his health issues. Brian Hoyer is also here. Kyle Van Noy checked in. He is a Patriot again. What about N’Keal Harry and his trade request?

The third-year wide receiver requested a trade through his agent. This was the most shocking information in the offseason. Belichick selected Harry in the first round, and now his former pick is trying to get out of the team. Did Harry insult his head coach?

The Patriots have a few issues to deal with in August. Harry’s public trade request is one of them. The wideout made his request in June and the Patriots have yet to make a decision on his role with the team.

N’Keal Harry isn’t so sure about the trade request

Harry acts differently now and he told everyone that he is “ok with being a Patriot.” The team has talked the whole thing with Harry and Belichick sounds optimistic about his wideout.

Here’s what Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk reported:

“N’Keal and I have talked about it,” Belichick said in his press conference. “We had a good conversation, have a good relationship. So I’m not going to get into all that.”

Harry has two years in his current deal with the team. He may dream of a bigger role in the passing game. In 2020, Harry had 309 receiving yards, 33 receptions, and two touchdown catches in 15 games and on 57.76% offensive snap appearance.

Belichick and his players will start the 2021 NFL season with a home match against the Miami Dolphins. September 12 is a big day for the Patriots nation. Tom Brady and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming to town too.
