Cam Newton, Mac Jones Speak About Their Vaccination Statuses

The NFL brought in some new rules regarding players’ vaccination status. Coaches who haven’t received the vaccine won’t be allowed to enter facilities. Players are advised to take the jab. Well, some of them decided to stay mum on the whole thing. I guess head coach Bill Belichick taught them really well. Patriots players won’t say a word about the jabs and the same goes for Belichick’s quarterbacks.

Belichick doesn’t like to talk about his personal life and yes, vaccination statuses should be kept private.

Newton and his younger teammate decided not to reveal whether they have received the coronavirus vaccine.

Cam Newton doesn’t like to talk about his vaccination

If you ask Newton, he will say that vaccination status is “too personal” topic to share.

“I think it’s too personal for each and every person to discuss it, and I’ll just keep it at that,” Newton said after Thursday’s training camp practice.

Jones believes that a lot of Patriots players have received the vaccine. However, the first-rounder declined to say whether he is vaccinated.

“Yeah, I think in terms of our team, everyone has their personal choice, and we’re all just trying to make the right decision to keep everyone protected,” Jones said. “And we all want to play. So, it’s kind of a personal thing. I think a lot of guys on our team are, and that’s a good thing. And we’re going to keep moving forward. It’s made it a lot easier to go about the day.

“But, like I said, that’s a personal choice. It’s up to the players.”

The NFL is not forcing players to get vaccinated, but those who are unvaccinated face many restrictions. It may not be fair, but the NFL is pretty strict about this and players will have to follow the rules.

COVID-19 vaccines are mandatory for coaches and support staff. Patriots co-offensive line coach Cole Popovich had to leave the staff because of this.

Several Patriots players wore masks in practice and Newton is one of them. Jones didn’t have his facemask on.
