Cam Newton Responds To What He’s Seen From N’Keal Harry

The New England Patriots have a lot of valuable players on the roster. Head coach Bill Belichick brought great players in free agency and has to take care of the players on his current roster. Cam Newton is one of them and he follows every move the Patriots make, including their attitude towards N’Keal Harry.

Harry requested a trade through his agent earlier this offseason. NFL analysts said that he insulted head coach Bill Belichick with this move. The Patriots selected Harry in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Now he wants out.

Harry had a disappointing performance in the first two seasons in the NFL. He struggled to stay healthy and spent a lot of time out of the field.

The wideout had an interesting offseason and this may have put an end to his football career. First, his agent requested a trade heading into training camp. It seems like the wideout has shifted his focus.

Cam Newton likes N’Keal Harry

In two seasons with the Patriots, Harry had 45 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. Jamal Tooson says the Patriots didn’t get the best of Harry because they don’t use him enough.

“Following numerous conversations with the Patriots I believe it’s time for a fresh start and best for both parties if N’Keal moves on before the start of training camp. That is why I have informed the Patriots today I am formally requesting a trade on behalf of my client,” Tooson said earlier this summer. Just weeks later, Harry said he wasn’t concerned about a trade, and says he’s happy to be a Patriot if it doesn’t materialize.

Newton has noticed Harry’s development. He watched him in practice, and added that the wideout “is starting to believe more in himself.”

Harry was the second wide receiver selected in the 2019 NFL Draft behind Baltimore Ravens weapon Marquise Brown. Deebo Samuel, A.J. Brown, DK Metcalf, Diontae Johnson, Terry McLaurin, and Scotty Miller were taken after Harry at this position.

Harry has an impressive size and great college production. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the Patriots didn’t rush to give up on Harry. Harry is young enough to have a breakout season and maybe he has yet to show his true potential.
