Carmelo Anthony Makes Honest Admission On His Role With Lakers

NBA veteran Carmelo Anthony is getting ready for a new role with the Los Angeles Lakers. General manager Rob Pelinka offered him a nice deal and Melo is teaming up with LeBron James. Finally.

So, what’s on the table?

The Lakers veteran doesn’t know much about his role with the purple and gold. One thing stands for sure though. Carmelo is ready to do his best on the floor.

How will the Lakers use Melo’s skillset? He sharpened his skills and his shooting game is on point. However, he still sees some struggles on the defensive part of the ball. The Lakers won the 2020 NBA Finals with the help of their defense. This makes us believe that they will focus to the offensive part of the game in the upcoming season.

Carmelo Anthony embraces a different role with the Lakers

What does this mean? NBA experts say Frank Vogel will give Melo a chance to start games. Melo will take whatever the game has to offer. He had bright moments in his career and this gave him a chance to get a key role in the NBA.

Melo wants to play basketball and LA should get the best of him.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. I just know I’m prepared,” Anthony told reporters on Monday, via Lakers reporter Ryan Ward. “I’m ready. I’m ready to go play basketball. I know what’s at stake here and I’m totally locked in.”

LeBron, Davis, and Russell Westbrook will start games in the regular season. What’s their position? According to initial updates, the superstar duo met with Westbrook right after his trade was confirmed. LeBron will be leading the offense, and Westbrook will make things easier for him. AD will probably go under center. He doesn’t like the position but is willing to sacrifice his desire to make things work for LA.

Some would say playing LeBron at the four and AD at the five makes the best sense. Will AD really move from the four? Let’s see what happens next in the big city. Lakers players are going after their title.
