Carmelo Anthony Reacts to Inking Deal With Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers missed the chance to win back-to-back titles and players entered the offseason a little too early this time. The front office has plenty of time to add new pieces to the roster. Some of the players will be parting ways with the Lakers and Alex Caruso is one of them. Several NBA veterans have shown interest in signing with the Lakers. Guess who was the first name on the list… Carmelo Anthony will be playing with the Lakers in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Yes, you read it right. Melo will sign a one-year deal with the Lakers. He will have a chance to play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The whole thing started with the Russell Westbrook signing. LA did business with the Washington Wizards to get the veteran. Westbrook joined the Lakers and Kyle Kuzma will be spreading his wings in Washington or Brooklyn. The same goes for Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Carmelo Anthony to win a ring with the Lakers

General Manager Rob Pelinka didn’t stop here. He signed Trevor Ariza and Dwight Howard. Melo was next on the list. Malik Monk earned his spot on the Lakers roster as well.

Melo spent two years with the Portland Trail Blazers. He used this time to show everyone that he can contribute to the game. The veteran will finally join forces with King James. They have excellent connection and LeBron really likes his dear friend. LeBron and Melo entered the NBA in the same draft, but didn’t have the similar destiny.

We bet Melo is super excited about his new deal with the Lakers.

Melo was a key player for the Blazers off the bench in 2020-21. He saw action in 69 of 72 games, averaging 13.4 points. Melo did this while shooting 40% from three-point range.

Now he will play with Westbrook, LeBron, Anthony Davis, and many other weapons in LA.

Melo will have a similar role with the Lakers. The team had to add some shooting in the offseason. Melo and Monk seem like a good option at this moment.
