Isaiah Thomas Sends Strong Message to Lakers Amid Rumors

Isaiah Thomas has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and some rumors suggest he would be a good fit alongside LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook. Thomas hasn’t played in the NBA lately. He had a 10-day stint last season and that’s pretty much it.

What does Thomas say about the new-look Lakers? Well, the veteran is well aware of the fact that the Lakers are going after their 18^th championship.

“I think they’re getting ready for that NBA championship run,” Thomas noted. “The guys that they got on their team, they’re playoff-ready. They’ve been in every situation possible. So, when it comes to the moment, nothing’s too big for them. So, a guy like Westbrook and LeBron, people are saying those guys are too old, they might not be able to mesh. Those are killers, bro. They gonna figure it out. If they get put in the right situation come playoff time, teams is gonna be scared to play them boys, for real.”

Isaiah Thomas adds fuel to Lakers rumors

Thomas has yet to make a decision about his NBA future. The veteran has been talking to at least three teams. He didn’t list the names but he did say the Boston Celtics are on this list.

“The Los Angeles Lakers still have a few roster spots open and have weighed using one of them to sign former All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas, league sources say,” Stein detailed. “The addition of Thomas is far from assured, sources stressed, but the Lakers are looking for additional backcourt punch as well as wing depth as they decide how to supplement the 12 veteran players they have under contract.”

Thomas had his interview with ESPN right after NBA insider Marc Stein reported that LA considers a reunion with the veteran. Adding Thomas would lead to many changes in LA. Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn are part of the team, and this makes things easier for everyone.

Stein reported that the Lakers have a few roster spots open. They may use one on Thomas. Signing Thomas is just an idea at this point. The franchise is looking for some background punch and wing depth.
