Isaiah Thomas Worked Out With LeBron James, Russell Westbrook

Isaiah Thomas joined LeBron James and Russell Westbrook for a workout. What does that mean? The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked to the NBA veteran for quite some time. Thomas hasn’t played a real game in a really long time. He had a 10-day stint last season and that’s all. Maybe the Lakers will give him a chance to prove himself once again.

General manager Rob Pelinka was really active in free agency. Experts watched the team win sign top players and most of them were veterans. The Lakers have the oldest roster in the NBA, but they have more talent than anyone else. The franchise is packed with future Hall of Famers and veterans seeking rings.

Pelinka has a few roster spots to fill there are a few targets on his desk. Chris Haynes from Yahoo! Sports confirmed that the Lakers worked out Thomas, Darren Collison, and Mike James in order to add another point guard behind Westbrook and Kendrick Nunn.

“Thomas, James and Russell Westbrook worked out together Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, sources said.”

Isaiah Thomas to join forces with LeBron and Westbrook

Thomas is a former All-Star with the Boston Celtics. However, he struggled to find a home in the NBA since suffering a hip injury in the 2017 playoffs. The veteran played with LeBron in Cleveland and joined the Lakers in the 2017-18 season after the midseason trade from Cleveland. The Lakers have a few options on this position, and Thomas would be an odd fit for the team. NBA analysts criticized his defense but his other skills are insane.

Talented Thomas had 81-point performance at the Crawsover Pro-Am Tournament in Portland. The competition wasn’t too serious but this performance was definitely promising. The veteran saw action in 55 games in the past three seasons with the Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, and New Orleans Pelicans. He is averaging 11.1 points on 39.3 percent shooting in these games. LA can use this numbers in 2022.
