Julian Edelman’s Goodbye Message to Sony Michel After Trade From New England

Sony Michel leaves the New England Patriots and he will join the Los Angeles Rams. The team traded him for two draft picks and this is one of the many moves Bill Belichick is expected to make ahead of the regular season. The Patriots will have the first game against the Miami Dolphins.

The team announced the trade on Wednesday. Michel was the first player to leave the team as the Patriots had too many running backs on the depth chart. Damien Harris and James White are locks on the roster, and the other running backs will definitely benefit from this trade.

Julian Edelman may be out of the team but he follows every move coach B makes. The former Patriots wideout delivered a message following the big trade. He spent some time with Michel and they know each other really well.

Edelman couldn’t ignore Michel’s trade so he took to Twitter to deliver his message for the 26-year-old.

“We’ll always have Atlanta bubs, good luck out in Tinseltown,” he wrote.

We all know what that means. Edelman knows what he is talking about. In his rookie campaign, Michel helped the Patriots win a trophy. He showed great flashes on the field and many thought he would stay around for a while.

Thanks to Michel, the Patriots won their sixth Super Bowl.

In his three years with the Patriots, Michel had 535 carries 2,292 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Patriots used the 31st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft to select him. His rookie campaign was great, but Michel didn’t really improve over the next few seasons.

Michel may see more action in LA. The Rams deal with many issues at the moment and injuries have had a huge impact on their running back unit. Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson are out. The latter suffered a thumb injury and the Rams were desperately hunting for backs.

Belichick will be working with Harris and White in 2021. Rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson showed great potential in the preseason. Michel had to go this time. There were many rumors related to his trade and he is finally out.
