Kyle Kuzma Replaces LeBron James as His GOAT After Lakers Departure

A blockbuster trade can change it all. LeBron James wins the GOAT debate every time someone mentions it. Current and former NBA players would agree on this one. Basketball fans love watching LeBron win games and his teammates have nothing but words of praise for him. Kyle Kuzma was convinced that LeBron is the GOAT until he was traded to the Washington Wizards.

The Lakers sent Kuzma away to get Russell Westbrook. They also traded Montrezl Harrell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and the No.22 pick. Kuzma was fine with this decision but he changed his mind. Overnight. I guess the whole Westbrook trade didn’t sit well with him.

Kuzma had to deal with so many problems lately. First, LA traded him to Washington. What happened next? Someone stole his SUV and hit a police car. Maybe Kuzma was too frustrated to stay positive.

Kyle Kuzma didn’t say LeBron was the GOAT

LeBron and Kuzma played together for three years. The young player was the second-leading scorer on the Lakers roster in LeBron’s debut with the team. He averaged a career-high 18.7 points. Kuzma was all-in when it comes to supporting LeBron. He said LeBron was the GOAT. Why did he change his mind?

Even prior to their game in LA, Kuzma considered LeBron above any other player. He said LeBron was better than NBA icon Kobe Bryant. Kuzma made these comments during a Hoops on Fox podcast in the 2018 NBA Finals.

“Um… Golden State. It’s tough. It’ll be interesting. I want to see how they do against Houston. I think Houston’s had a phenomenal season. Bron is Bron. I’m never going to count him out, because he’s the greatest player of this generation. No question. … It’s hard to go against Kobe but, I mean, he’s been to the Finals seven straight times.”

After the Lakers traded him away, Kuzma said Kobe was the “greatest ever.” The former Laker retweeted a photo of Kobe, and wrote, “greatest ever.”

What does this mean?

LeBron threw a going away party. Kuzma and LeBron seemed to be in good terms upon the trade.
