LA Lakers Are Reportedly Considering Big Roster Addition

The Los Angeles Lakers may easily pull out another roster addition. General manager Rob Pelinka signed several veterans in the offseason and traded for Russell Westbrook. He shipped Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to the Washington Wizards. LA lost the No.22 NBA pick but they really needed a third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Kuzma once thought he’d be the third option but his inconsistency was a big problem. The young player had to go. He was involved in so many trade rumors lately and some of these rumors were real.

Let’s go back to the roster moves. Pelinka made a lot of moves for veterans in the offseason. He may soon add another big name to the squad.

The Lakers may make the best roster addition

NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Lakers may add point guard Isaiah Thomas to their roster. The two-time All-Star point guard was out of the NBA for a while.

The talented player had a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans last season. However, he only played in three games and averaged 7.7 points in April.

Thomas has already played with the Lakers. The Cleveland Cavaliers traded him to LA at the end of the 2017-18 NBA season.

The Sacramento Kings picked Isaiah Thomas in the second-round of the 2011 NBA draft. He made the All-Rookie Team as a rookie. NBA analysts would agree that his best playing time happened when Thomas was wearing a Celtics jersey.

In the 2015-16 season, Thomas was averaging 22.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game. Thomas was an All-Star and this performance opened a lot of opportunities for him.

The following campaign, he was averaging a career-high 28.6 points per game. He led Boston to the Eastern Conference Finals but lost to LeBron and Cleveland.

Good things always come to an end. Boston traded Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers to get Kyrie Irving. The veteran didn’t want to play alongside LeBron James anymore.

Was this trade a good move? What happened in the next few years? Thomas saw action in 87 games in the past four seasons.

This leads us to the following question. Is Wynn a good fit for the Los Angeles Lakers? Let’s find out together!
