Lakers Planning on Bringing Back 1 of Lebron James’ Most Trusted Teammates

The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to complete their roster. They have added an army of veterans and each of these players is expected to make an impact on the floor in 2021. Russell Westbrook was the biggest name on the table and the Lakers traded to get him. They gave up on a bunch of players to get the former Washington Wizards star. Here’s some more good news. LeBron James may get one of his most trusted teammates back.

Can you guess the name?

The Phoenix Suns eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers early in the playoffs. The front office went into full rebuild mode. Pelinka has two superstars and LeBron and Anthony Davis really needed a third superstar on the floor. Adding Westbrook changes everything. He was the perfect player to join LA.

Pelinka didn’t stop here. He also signed several veterans in free agency. The Lakers signed Carmelo Anthony, Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, Kent Bazemore, Malik Monk, Kendrick Nunn, and Wayne Ellington. They have the oldest roster in the NBA but that doesn’t change a thing. LeBron is fine with the veteran presence.

Here’s more… The front office will probably try to add a former Laker to the roster. Howard is back and he re-signed with the team to win his ring.

LeBron would love to have one of his most trusted teammates back in the fold

Enter Rajon Rondo.

Drew Hill of the Daily Memphian reported that the Memphis Grizzlies may enter the new season without the former Laker.

Memphis has 19 players under contract and teams have to shrink their roster to 15 under the good ol’ NBA rules. There are two potential scenarios for Rondo at the moment. Memphis may unload his $8 million salary in a trade deal or buy the veteran out of his current deal .

If Rondo gets the second scenario, the Lakers won’t wait for too long before bringing him back. He has the right skill set and knows the team really well. He was part of the team for two seasons and had a key role in the title run in 2020. LeBron really liked him and he will probably cheer on his return.
