Lakers Target Andre Iguodala Shares Final Decision on His Free Agency Plans

Andre Iguodala has yet to make a decision on free agency. The NBA veteran has to make the right choice for his professional career. According to recent reports, Iguodala will probably join Stephen Curry.

Yes, Curry is expected to ink a deal with the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

The Los Angeles Lakers showed interest in the veteran, but he decided to play somewhere else.

“He told The New York Times that he intends to sign a one-year deal to return to the Golden State Warriors, the franchise with whom he won three N.B.A. championships and in 2015 claimed the finals Most Valuable Player Award,” wrote Jonathan Abrams of the New York Times.

“‘Who would have thought I’d have the opportunity to go back to the place where I was able to have, whatever you want to call it, legacy years, in terms of the accomplishments, winning multiple championships, the relationships that I was able to build with some of my closest friends and teammates?’ Iguodala said, adding: ‘The relationship with the fans, the relationship with the Bay, the opportunity to end it here, was just something special.’”

Andre Iguodala goes home in free agency

Reports confirmed that Iguodala wanted the Golden State or Brooklyn. The information broke Friday morning and now we know that LA wasn’t really close to sealing the deal with the veteran.

The Warriors helped Iguodala cement his legacy. In his first stint with the team, the veteran averaged 7.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game in six seasons.

Iguodala has already won three rings with the Warriors. Maybe he will try to get his fourth in the 2021-22 NBA season. Being home feels great, right?

The Lakers will move move forward with their roster. They have excellent roster packed with veterans. LeBron James will lead his team to the top, leaving little to no room for doubt. Rob Pelinka packed his roster with great players. Do they need Iguodala? Yes, but they have enough talent to make the playoffs without the Warriors veteran.

The NBA looks really challenging this season. Who is winning the trophy?
