Latest Lakers Signing Has Huge Beef With LeBron

The Los Angeles Lakers are signing another veteran, and this particular player has a beef with LeBron James.

It’s swingman Kent Bazemore.

Shams Charania from The Athletic reported that Bazemore turned down the offer from the Golden State Warriors to sign a deal with the Lakers.

“Bazemore turned down more money and years (two) from the Warriors, sources say, but believes he will have a bigger role and opportunity to win a championship with the Lakers,” Charania tweeted. “Bazemore is betting on himself.”

The Latest Lakers addition is signing with the team despite his beef with LeBron

The whole thing started in college. The swingman likes to take a shot at LeBron once in a while. In 2016, Sean Deveney from Heavy shared more details about the tension between LeBron and Bazemore.

“Bazemore has long had a chip against James, at least as far as Twitter goes,” Deveney detailed. “Tweets dug up from 2010, when Bazemore was at Old Dominion and still a long way from earning a starting spot on an Eastern Conference playoff team, show some pretty palpable disdain from the college-junior version of Bazemore — he called James some unprintable names, and repeatedly harped on the notion that James lacked the gumption to play well in the fourth quarter. ‘LeBron is equivalent to 7-11,’ he said in one relatively mild dig. ‘He doesn’t close.’”

That’s not all. There are some NSFW tweets from the swingman and he was always taking a shot at LeBron. There is a strong rivalry between LeBron and Bazemore but these two will have to share the same locker room in the 2020-21 NBA season. It looks like they will have to leave the whole thing in the past as the Lakers are trying to win a ring in the upcoming season.

Bazemore and LeBron are part of rival shoe companies too. LeBron works with Nike, while Bazemore is an Under Armour athlete. This takes their rivalry to a whole different level.

We all saw the tense exchanges between both veterans on the court. Everyone is waiting for their first handshake on the first day of camp.
