LeBron James Gives Classy Farewell Message to Players That Lakers Parted Ways With in Offseason

The Los Angeles Lakers signed several players in the offseason. However, they had to part ways with some of the players they had in 2020-21. Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were sent to the Washington Wizards, and LA got Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook will be the third superstar behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Alex Caruso won’t join the team next season as he signed a three-year deal with the Chicago Bulls. Andre Drummond is no longer a Laker, and Dennis Schroder signed a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics.

The new-look Lakers have caught the attention of many NBA analysts. Some of them don’t like the idea of seeing all these veterans in Los Angeles. The Lakers have the oldest roster in the league at the moment. Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Trevor Ariza, Kendrick Nunn, Dwight Howard… They all joined the franchise in the offseason.

The Lakers shared a few photos of the players who left the team. LeBron shared the post and thanked them all for the great experience and their accomplishment on the floor.

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka made a lot of moves in the offseason

LeBron spent some time for these players and he really respected their talent. But, these guys had to go and make room for new faces.

Truth is, the Lakers look much better than they did when the offseason started. Seeing Caruso go was probably the biggest loss for LA. Schroder was the loser in his case. He turned down a $84 million offer to sign a one year deal worth $5.9 million.

General Manager Rob Pelinka calculated the moves and brought the players his team needs to make the big game in the upcoming season.

Adding Westbrook was a good move for the team and he has already had his workout with LeBron. The four-time NBA champion was so excited about it that he even shared a few images from the workout.

The Lakers will have another long season and players will try to prove their worth. Sort of. They are already considered favorites to win the championship in the upcoming season.
