Report: Massive Fight Breaks Out During Patriots-Giants Practice

Everyone is talking about the fight that broke during the New England Patriots and the New York Giants on the practice field. We all know that football is not easy, and things get really hot from time to time. Joint practices are tough, too. Players tend to get into a thing during joint practices in the middle of training camp.

That’s exactly what happened Wednesday morning. The Patriots had their practice with the Giants. They had the first of two joint practice sessions. Temperatures went along the low 90s, and things reached the boiling point within an hour. A “fire” broke between both teams.

So, how did this happen?

The Patriots offense challenged the Giants defense. Doug Kyed from Pro Football Focus reported that the whole thing started during a rep between Patriots guard Mike Onwenu and New York’s defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence. The latter measures at 6 feet 4 and 342 pounds. “Big Mike” is 6 feet 4 and 350 pounds. Impressive, right?

These two weren’t the only one to fight. There was a huge dogpile between both teams and a lot of bodies were all over one another.

Big fight between Patriots vs Giants practice

Patriots center David Andrews talked about the practice and said guys were just “talking.”

They talked about “baseball.”

Patriots running back James White said he just saw a pile of bodies. He wasn’t really sure what was going on.

No one was eliminated from practice for the fight. However, both teams had to run a lap when tempers got to cool off a bit as per Chris Mason from MassLive.

The Patriots will have another practice on Thursday. Head coach Bill Belichick and his guys will go to New Jersey for Sunday night’s preseason finale.

This leads us to another question. Who will play under center for the Patriots? Cam Newton won’t return until Thursday. Does this mean that Mac Jones will start the game? Well, Belichick has to make a move this time and we believe he will make the right choice for the team.
