Rare Kobe Bryant Photos Selling as NFTs

NBA fans would love to celebrate the life of late Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and they can do that by bidding on his photos. The best part? These are rare, never-before-seen photos of the Black Mamba.

Fans will be more than excited to see the new photos are now available as non-fungible tokens via Cryptograph. The digital collectibles blockchain company is up to something big with the project.

Davis Factor took the eight black-and-white photos in 1999 at a warehouse in downtown LA.

“NFTs can eternalize and immortalize,” said Tommy Alastra, the co-founder of Cryptograph, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “This shoot is special because you don’t see him in a jersey. He’s Kobe Bean Bryant. You can see the father, the son, the husband come out. It’s just him, raw, in everyday Kobe. It’s special.”

In these photos, Kobe is striking a few poses and each photo brings a distinct energy. Here are their titles:

  • “Easy”: Bryant lounges in an unbuttoned leather jacket
  • “I See You”: Bryant looks and leans forward in an unbuttoned button-down
  • “Jump”: Bryant, in a black tee, elevating
  • “Leather”: Bryant in a leather jacket
  • “Sexy”: Bryant strikes a seductive pose
  • “Style”: Bryant dons an undone suit and fedora
  • “The Kiss”: Bryant makes a kissing gesture
  • “Time:” Bryant sitting, smiling, in a fedora and suit

You can bid until Friday. The lowest leading bid for any of these photo goes at 0.50 ETH at the moment.

Proceeds from this collection will go to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. However, the auction is not formally connected with the Bryant family trust.

Kobe would have celebrated his 43rd birthday on Monday. It was a sad day for the Lakers organization and fans across the nation delivered their birthday wishes. Former and current NBA players took to social media to honor the Black Mamba. It was said, emotional, and powerful.

Kobe, his daughter Gianna, and seven others died in the helicopter crash outside Los Angeles. It’s been a year and a half and we can’t get over it.
