Report: DeMar DeRozan Going to Lakers For Less Money Hits Snag

The Los Angeles Lakers signed Russell Westbrook through a trade and now they are going after role players. The team would love to get top NBA players. We know that NBA veterans would agree to a veteran minimum and join the Lakers in the upcoming season. Let’s be honest. LA can really use a few veterans on the floor in 2021-21. Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Gay, DeMar DeRozan and many others can make their way to the Lakers and help the team win a championship.

DeRozan would really love to team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He will play with the Lakers’ talented trio and everyone is so excited about this. Imagine these four on the basketball floor. Impressive!

DeMar DeRozan to join the Lakers

Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report reported that the DeRozan to Lakers idea has hit some snags. Simple as that.

“It’s definitely starting to sound like the situation of him going to Los Angeles on the mid-level is not going to be the case… I don’t think it’s a sure bet that DeMar is going to take that mid-level to go to Los Angeles. That was something that was heavily discussed and rumored the last week or so, but now it does not seem to be the case.”

Will DeRozan agree to sign a tiny deal? He is a star, you know… But we do know that the veteran wants to get his ring. Signing a deal with the Lakers would really give him a chance to become a champion. His resume would look a lot better that way.

It’s up to DeRozan to make a decision on his future. Taking a big pay cut seems like a joke now. We are talking about DeRozan after all. He is a great star in the NBA. Great stars demand great deals.

NBA free agency starts off Monday, August 2, and a lot of NBA veterans will try to join the Lakers on cheap deals. DeRozan won’t be in the first group. Maybe he will work on a specific deal with the Lakers front office.
