Report: Patriots Host 2019 Draft Pick For Tryout

The New England Patriots are ready to add more players to their roster, and this time they invited a 2019 draft pick over for a workout.

The team had a familiar face on the field Friday and things can get really easy for the team at this point. Mike Reiss from ESPN confirmed that the Patriots invited free-agent defensive back Ken Webster to Foxboro. His experience and knowledge will help the Patriots challenge their opponents in the upcoming season.

New England drafted the 25-year-old in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Webster left San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. He saw action in nine games for the team in the 2019 NFL season. However, he ended up on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. In the preseason clash with the Kansas City Chiefs, Webster had 35 snaps.

Patriots to workout more players from the 2019, 2020 draft

NFL teams were told to shrink their rosters. They went from 90 to 85 and the change was supposed to be over by Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET. Webster is one of the few roster cuts for the team. Will Bill Belichick give him a chance to perform in the upcoming season? He had to trim his roster, too.

New England has made multiple changes in the offseason. Belichick has a few holes to cover up, but he is pretty thick at running problem. A sweet headache, right?

The team has worked out several players and Belichick is just checking out his options. He doesn’t have a No.1 wide receiver and has yet to confirm his starting signal-caller. There are so many options for the Patriots right now, and Belichick will do the best for his team.

Belichick and his teammates had two exhibition games so far and they won both games. They defeated the Washington Football Team and also beat the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cam Newton and Mac Jones will compete for the starting position and they both look good on the field. The receiving group looks good at this point, but there’s always room for more additions. Who will be the next player to leave the team? Some of them will be able to keep their spot.
