Report: New England Patriots Cut 4 Players

The New England Patriots made several decision in the last few days, and now they have cut four players.

The team played the first two preseason games and they have one more exhibition game on the schedule.

NFL teams will have to trim their players to 80 each by Tuesday afternoon.

The deadline is almost here, but head coach Bill Belichick is not wasting his time. He has already made some cuts.

Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald says the Patriots have cut ties with wide receiver Devin Ross, safety Malik Gant, long snapper Brian Khoury and offensive lineman R.J. Prince.

These are not big moves since all four players were deep in the depth chart.

Patriots to cut more players

Gant, Khoury, Prince, and Ross will have a chance to ink deals with another team before the first regular season game. The odds of making another 53-man roster are pretty slim because they may be running out of time.

Ross and Gant have had some history with the team. Belichick can bring them back pretty much every time he needs depth.

The preseason finale is of utmost importance for the Patriots. Head coach Belichick has to bring his roster down to 53. His players will go against the New York Giants and this is the final opportunity for grinders to make a lasting impression.

Picking the right quarterback for the team is of utmost importance. The Patriots have to choose between Cam Newton and Mac Jones.

Belichick will be really busy in the next few days. The Patriots have to enter the 2021 NFL season with 53 players. Who will be the next player to leave the team? We have several theories for the team, and Belichick will sure pick the right path. Things may look a little tricky now and Belichick has yet to find his No.1 receiver.

What about Stephon Gilmore? The veteran cornerback is looking forward to getting a new deal. But, Belichick said Gilmore would be back with the team when he is ready to be back. The team needs him on the field in 2021.
