Bill Belichick Doubles Down on Vaccine Comments

Head coach Bill Belichick made a few interesting comments related to COVID-19 vaccine. He attracted the attention of many health experts.

Belichick made similar comments again Monday morning and this was yet another mind-blowing statement.

“No player has been kept or released because of their vaccine status,” coach Belichick said. “My comment relative to vaccinations are really the way I feel. That’s an individual decision to make. . . . We’re better off if everyone is vaccinated.”

The whole thing started when the Patriots released Cam Newton. Some fans and experts believe that the team got rid of Newton just because he has yet to receive the COVID-19 shot.

Bill Belichick has already spoken about COVID-19 vaccine

The Patriots head coach shot down this notion and said Newton’s release was in no way related to his vaccination status. But, Belichick said much more than this. He believes that vaccines are great, but didn’t miss the chance to say that there are still coaches and players who tested positive for the virus despite their vaccination.

NFL’s chief medical officer Dr. Allen Sills took notice of Belichick’s comments and shared his response to his statement.

According to Sills, recent research showed higher rates of COVID infection in unvaccinated players than in vaccinated individuals. Sills said vaccines are working. Even if people get the virus, they will deal with short and mild version of the infection. According to Sills and other experts, COVID-19 vaccines are designed to prevent illness, hospitalization or even worse, death.

Belichick won’t change his mind and everyone has the right to speak their thoughts. He has been around in the NFL for a lot of time, but this pandemic was probably the most disturbing issue he had to deal with.

Immunization has been quite a topic these days and we have heard so many different theories. Belichick wants his players to be healthy and that’s the only thing that matters at this point.

The Patriots had a minor outbreak in October last season and Newton got the virus too. It changed his game and the quarterback didn’t return the same.
