Cam Newton Reportedly Sent Clear Message To Bill Belichick, Patriots

The New England Patriots cut Cam Newton right before the start of the regular season. He didn’t win the quarterback battle. NFL analysts made predictions about the QB competition in New England but no one thought that Newton would part ways with the team. He had great performance in training camp, and had a really good chance to get the starting job. Bill Belichick even said Newton was his quarterback in 2021. He doubled down and said that players would have to be much better than Newton to start games in 2021. It’s time to say “goodbye” and Newton has probably delivered a message for coach Belichick and the Patriots.

Truth is, Mac Jones did an incredible job in training camp. Newton also missed practice time due to a misunderstanding with the COVID-19 tests he had outside the facility.

Cam Newton had a message for Belichick

Mike Sando from The Athletic asked NFL execs to rank the 2021 AFC teams. Here comes the big Newton bomb. This person also discussed Newton’s position with the team and the mistakes he made. According to him, the 2015 NFL MVP forced his way out of New England.

“It’s embarrassing when you can’t complete a dropback pass, which was the case last season,” the exec told Sando in a piece published Thursday. “And then you do (crap) like misunderstand the COVID protocols as a veteran, that’s like sending Bill (Belichick) a hand-written note that says, ‘Cut me.’ Because they hate leadership challenges, especially at the quarterback position. They’re not used to that at all.”

The Patriots head coach is off to a new start with his rookie. Jones has so much to offer and Belichick will use the best of his game. He helped the team win each of the exhibition games they had in the preseason. This was more than enough for Patriots coaches to give him a chance to lead the team.

Here’s an interesting catch. Belichick also cut Brian Hoyer. Jarrett Stidham had a surgery. Who is the backup for Jones? NFL experts believe that Belichick will bring Hoyer back. He is Jones’ mentor and he will probably do the same again.
