Carmelo Anthony Gives Honest Impression After First Practice At Lakers Facility

Guess who is happy to play with the Los Angeles Lakers next season… General manager Rob Pelinka signed a great number of veterans in the offseason and his roster looks really great at the moment. The franchise had to make some changes after coming off of a terrible season. Carmelo Anthony is one of the new guys and he had his first practice at the Lakers facility.

How does he feel about this? The veteran will get to play with a new team and he will join forces with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook.

“My first time being in the building, at the facility, on the court, still trying to get my bearings wrapped around my head the fact that I’m wearing this purple and gold,” Anthony said. “But my first workout went great today.”

Melo really needs more time to adjust to the system. He was bouncing around the NBA and spend the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. Playing with Damian Lillard is nothing like playing with LBJ and AD. The newly-signed veteran may need more time, but he really felt great during his first session. I mean, he is wearing purple and gold. It doesn’t get any better than this. It’s the perfect sunset for an NBA veteran.

“Again, it’s just like any other court, but that purple and gold is different,” Melo added. “It always has been, and it always will be. I’m just happy to be a part of it.”

The Lakers signed a bunch of veterans including Westbrook, Trevor Ariza, Malik Monk, and Dwight Howard. NBA analysts may criticize Pelinka for bringing so many veterans to LA. Well, they are ready to win a title and that’s the only thing that matters now. Most of these veterans have yet to get their first ring. Westbrook joined the Lakers with one and only goal. To be a champion. The same goes to Melo. He joins LeBron after two decades playing here and there.

It’s a long season for the purple and gold. Are they winning the big game at the end?
